This sacrament is celebrated annually in the spring at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester. Our diocese now follows a two-year process. Anyone 8th grade and up can begin the process. Preparation is separate from the regular faith formation sessions. A candidate must be baptized, have faith knowledge in an age appropriate manner, a desire to celebrate the sacrament, and a commitment to continue formation and participation in the worship life in the community.
